Objective: To get the student familiar with what enameling is, the tools needed to start, the metals used, and how to use sifters to create base layers and designs. By the end of the course, the student should be comfortable sifting a layer of enamel, firing the enamel, and have a basic understanding of design options.
Enamel 101 – Day 2 (Sun 8/6)
Objective: Build on the Enamel 101 Course 1 knowledge. Student will learn how to layer enamels to create designs with the following techniques
Sgraffito
Stencils
Screen Printing
Stamping
Use Gold and Silver Leaf
Use Gold (optional) and Silver Foil
Use lump enamel
Use millefiori and seed beads
Basse Taille with mason stains and transparent enamels
Prerequisite: Student is expected to know how to create a blank by sifting enamel and know kiln and torch safety. (satisfied in Day 1)

Cancellation by Salt City Smithery: If a class must be cancelled by Salt City Smithery, all registered students will be notified and a full refund will be issued to students.
Cancellation by Student: Salt City Smithery weekly/daily classes: If you are unable to attend a class that you have already paid for, please notify Salt City Smithery at least 72 HOURS prior to the start date of the class. Once notification is given in a timely manner, a full refund, minus $15 cancellation fee, will be given. Refunds will not be given for cancellations when notification is given less than 72 hours prior to start date of class.
Waiver of Liability
Attendees are required to sign a waiver of liability at least once before registering for an open studio.
