Bring your jewelry ideas to life by transforming wax into metal! In this hands-on class, students will learn how to design and carve wax models that will be cast into solid metal using the traditional lost wax casting process. You’ll explore carving techniques, surface textures, and design strategies while working with professional wax tools and materials.

Students will learn how to plan pieces specifically for casting, understand spruing and casting preparation, and gain an overview of the casting process from wax to finished metal.

This class is great for beginners as well as experienced makers looking to expand their fabrication skills into casting. No prior wax or casting experience required.

DATES:  Thursdays, 6-8:30pm, 3/12 – 3/26 and Saturday 3/28, 11am – 1:30pm

MATERIALS KIT: bring your own or purchase from Smithery as needed – Metal requirements will be discussed during the first sessions of class.
