HINGES AND LOCKETS: KEEP IT SIMPLE, KEEP IT SAFE

DESCRIPTION: This workshop will focus on creating a small, hinged locket with clasp. We all need a place to keep those extra tiny treasures safe and sound. Starting demonstrations with one type of locket and moving on from there, variations on hinges will be explored, depending on the locket form as well as a non-hinge option. Locket forms will include; round, oval and rectangular, and both flat and formed construction methods will be demonstrated. Multiple approaches to soldering hinges will also be demonstrated so that each participant will have a variety of approaches. The class will be accompanied with a PDF handout to serve as a review of techniques and demonstrations covered. Participants may expect to leave the end of the workshop with hinge samples and a completed locket.
