Andy Cooperman is a working maker, forging and fabricating jewelry and objects for exhibition and commission clients in his Seattle studio for over 40 years. He is a materials omnivore: stainless steel, high karat gold, diamonds, tiny plastic chickens and ping pong balls—any material holds possibility and all are treated with the care and respect that are the hallmarks of fine metalsmithing. As a teacher, Andy’s goal is to help students develop the creative problem-solving tools that will allow them to open new doors onto the creative process.

Andy’s work has been exhibited widely and can be found in many public and private collections as well as books and publications that include The Penland Book of Jewelry, Humor in Craft and many more. He has delivered the keynote addresses for the International Society of Glass Bead Makers and the Eastern Carolina University Materials Topics Symposium and has spoken at the SNAG and CoMA conferences, the Yuma Arts Symposium and many other venues.
