Alix Railton is a talented metalsmith, living and working in Park City for 35 years. She has been designing and creating jewelry for most of those years. She works in silver & gold and utilizes precious and semiprecious stones in her creations.

In addition to designing and crafting unique pieces, Alix has a talent for creating commissioned one-of-a-kind creations, repurposing owners’ sentimental pieces that would otherwise languish in the bottom drawers of their jewelry boxes. Alix is honored with astonishing stories while working with her clients, which guide her in designing her creations. She enjoys making pieces that are at once practical and sentimentally charged.

Originally from New York City, Alix came to Park City to build her own house — with her own hands. During this time, she met Sean, the love of her life, and stayed, raising two fantastic kids in the process.

Alix’s love for jewelry making began with a high school jewelry class, but it wasn’t until years later that, in creating a piece for her sister, her passion for the art of jewelry making was re-awakened.

“I am inspired by architecture and nature. Mostly, though, it is the stories I hear that trigger a visual image, and I am off and running.”
